The Coalition coordinates volunteer opportunities for individuals, businesses, civic and community organizations, and faith-based groups who want to give generously of themselves. Volunteers donate their time and talents to the Coalition.
Volunteers participate in a host of activities, such as community outreach, preparing and serving meals for the homeless & working poor, conducting training programs for speakers involved in the Many Faces of Homelessness Speakers' Bureau, catering meals for the Many Faces of Homelessness Speakers' Bureau, research, and other important projects that assist the Coalition in accomplishing its mission.
Among the many individual volunteers, our AmeriCorps VISTAs, play a key role in continuing the work of the Many Faces of Homeless Speakers' Bureau. The Coalition also offers degree-seeking college and university students a variety of internship/practicum opportunities to apply classroom learning in a practical setting. These opportunities exist for students from a variety of college and university curricula, including social work, sociology, political science, communications, marketing and many others.
The ladies of Corazones Unidos Siempre, Chi Upsilon Sigma, National Latin Sorority, Inc. participated in street outreach with our homeless neighbors on Miami Beach to learn more about their health care needs.
