AmeriCorps VISTA Position
Miami Coalition for the Homeless is seeking several candidates for full-time AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) positions beginning April/May. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about the issues faced by Miami's homeless population and who will make a one year commitment to assist us with our programs to address these issues. Open positions include: Veterans' Program Assistance, Speakers' Bureau Coordinator, and Social Media Manager.
Required skill sets vary by position and all include proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office, excellent communication skills, research experience and analytical abilities. A Bachelor's degree is preferred for all positions. Public speaking experience and bilingual abilities desired for Speakers' Bureau Coordinator. Must be knowledgeable in social media to apply for the Social Media Manager's position. Veterans are encouraged to apply for the position in Veterans' Program Assistance. Must have own transportation, be available for a full time work schedule, and have the ability to make a one year commitment to serve.
Salary and Benefits: This is not a salary based position but rather compensation is obtained via a stipend (see below). The position is with AmeriCorps VISTA program which involves a 1 year commitment to volunteer service. The selected candidate will be placed at the Miami Coalition for the Homeless Office.
Benefits for a year of full-time VISTA service include:
• Your choice of the $5,350 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or a $1,500 end-of-service stipend
